Italian guitarist, singer-songwriter and performer Irene Loche has built an artistic career that moves naturally between blues, Americana, folk and rock, combining expressive guitar playing with songwriting rooted in honesty, emotion and a strong sense of identity. Based in Sardinia, her music reflects years of artistic exploration rather than stylistic boundaries.

Deeply influenced by American roots music yet shaped by her own cultural background, Irene has developed a sound where tradition becomes a starting point rather than a destination. The blues remains its foundation, but her writing reaches beyond genre, embracing contemporary themes with authenticity and a distinctive musical voice.

Over the years, Irene has established herself through an intense live activity that has taken her from the Italian roots music scene to stages across Europe and the United States.

She has performed at festivals including Pistoia Blues Festival, Dromos Festival, Narcao Blues Festival, Rocce Rosse Blues Festival, Italian Blues River, Ameno Blues Festival and Out of the Blue’s Festival, working alongside musicians such as Steve Postell, Leland Sklar, Steve Ferrone, Michael Jerome Moore, Tom Freund, Sherman Robertson, lan Siegal and Eric McFadden.

Her international journey continued in the United Kingdom, where she performed at venues including Ain’t Nothin’ But…, The Bedford and The Ritzy, as well as at the Browne Ale Blues Festival, experiences that further strengthened her connection with the international roots music community.

A significant turning point came with her selection for the Bands at NAMM programme, leading to performances at the prestigious NAMM Show in California. That opportunity marked the beginning of an important artistic relationship with Los Angeles, where she later performed at iconic venues including The Mint and Harvelle’s.

Her time in California also led to collaborations with internationally respected musicians including Leland Sklar, Steve Ferrone, Steve Postell, Jerry Borgé and Fabrizio Foggia, alongside producers Michael Jerome Moore and Massimo Satta. Working with artists whose careers have helped shape contemporary roots and rock music became an important step in Irene’s artistic growth, reinforcing the personal musical direction she had been developing over years of touring and writing.

Alongside her recording career, Irene became the first Italian artist and the first woman to join the Magnatone Amplification artist roster, a milestone that reflects the recognition she has earned as a guitarist. She also collaborates with Blueridge Guitars, LR Bagg, G7th Capo and Pedal Room Italy, partnerships based on a shared commitment to craftsmanship, tone and musical authenticity.

As her artistic vision continued to evolve, Irene gradually expanded her musical language beyond the traditional boundaries of blues. While her guitar has always remained at the centre of her work, her songwriting has become increasingly personal, exploring themes of identity, belonging, resilience and human connection without losing the directness that has always characterised her music.

This evolution can be heard throughout her solo releases, from Garden of Lotus to We’ll Meet Again and Take It or Leave It, before reaching a new level of maturity with Keep Walking, recorded between Los Angeles and Cagliari.

Produced by Steve Postell and Massimo Satta, and featuring Leland Sklar, Steve Ferrone and Fabrizio Foggia, Keep Walking represented an important artistic milestone, bringing together years of live experience, international collaborations and an increasingly distinctive songwriting voice.

Her new album, Big Rough Sea, scheduled for release on October 2, 2026, marks the next chapter in that journey.

Anticipated by the singles Zhero, Green Wave and All I Need, the album explores identity, transformation and belonging through a sound that feels both deeply rooted and unmistakably contemporary. Recorded between Italy and Los Angeles, it reflects the artistic path Irene has built over the years, where expressive guitar playing remains the driving force behind every composition.

Whether performing solo or with her band, Irene approaches every concert with the same philosophy: the guitar is not simply an accompanying instrument, but an essential voice within the music itself.
